Door Knob Decorations Information
Doorknobs is a subject that is sometimes considered dull and boring. Because doorknobs are plain and uninviting, people started to decorate them for holidays.
The most popular decorations are for Christmas. Christmas is easy to decorate for. The plainer the doorknob, the better it will look when decorated. You can just wind some silk holly around it and make it look nice or you can put a specially designed arrangement there to really impress your guests.
You can make decorations from pine cones by using the pieces to make a small knob sized wreath and then decorate it with small pieces of colored glass or plastic.

It is easy to make door knob coverings by using a plastic cup top. You need to take an xacto knife and cut an X across the top of the cup lid so that it will easily slip across the knob. Then glue red and green pom poms all around the knob. If you want to add some holly leaves it is easy to glue them on.
Decorative Christmas bells can be made just by using a length of 1” wide red velvet ribbon. You can tie a big red bow on the door knob and then attach a large gold bell to each end of the ribbon by slipping the ribbon through the top on the bell and then affixing it with a dab of glue. Add a few silk holly leaves to each large bell with a dab of glue and sprinkle liberally with clear glitter glue to add sparkle.
Little homemade touches like a sign for a new mother that says “Shhhh, Baby is sleeping” can be a lovely and well thought out gift. You can make it from either foam or stiff felt cloth. Cut it in the shape you desire and glue it together so that it is ready to hang. You can then decorate the sign with lace or ribbon and markers that are used on cloth. Hang it on the front of the package and tie it with the package ribbon as a gift tag.
You can buy blank door knob hangers and print the message that you want on them. These can be made out of foam or stiff paper. You can put a personal message on the front and decorate it to suit the mood you want to convey. If you want someone to go away a leave you alone to study, just make a door knob hanger. If you want to sleep late, make a door knob hanger. People have been relying on them in hotels for ages. They put out the “do not disturb” sign almost as soon as they get into the room. Now you have a chance to use your plain old door knob to send a message. Maybe you just want to say “Go away.”
